Setting:The Hallway outside the Charms classroom, Rainy, Afternoon. Status: Principally, Nikolas or Nadine Vogel, but all are welcome. Rating: PG-13 First Post Summary: Clemence recalls the time when she almost lost control of herself as her class is about to end. While locking the door of her classroom, she turns around as she hears a voice speak behind her. General Plot (What story do you wish to impart?): The inner struggle of Clémence with her loyalties. She is to be faced with temptation once again, or confronted about her loyalties.
It was raining outside. Clémence was lost in her thoughts. Most women never even worked, but it was the 1800's already, and Clémence was one of the few women who were working--though if she had a choice, she would have chosen a different line of work than being a spy. Had it already been three years that she had started working at Hogwarts?
The French Intelligence had received word of the intentions of Nikolas Vogel regarding his plans on cleansing the Wizarding World of the Muggle blood, but Clémence had already known and worked with Nikolas for three years, and yet nothing that he said or did indicated his intentions. 'Patience, Clémence.' she thought to herself. It was only this year that Nikolas had been appointed Headmaster. Perhaps this year, there would be news to pass on to the French Intelligence.
She half-wished that nothing would happen. She did not care if the French Ministry had already forgotten that they sent her to Hogwarts undercover. She had already established a quiet life in England, and would be sad to leave it when her job was over. Her orders were direct, Find everything you can about Nikolas Vogel's intentions, and thwart it. If only it were that simple. Because of this order, she was forced to spend as much time as she could with Nikolas. She found him to be the profoundest man she had ever met. He was chivalrous, gentle, and had a very smooth personality. His smile was something that she found enthralling. If it weren't for the lives of the muggles at stake--and her mothers, as well as her loyalty to justice, she would have fallen for him. Oh, and if it weren't for his young wife as well.
She had come close to loving him to the point of wanting to leave her post, but she was trained well enough to resist such temptations of the flesh. She looked out the window and remembered that day when she had almost succumbed to his charm. It was a day much like this, a rainy afternoon, and they were stuck in the cabin of the groundskeeper. They were laughing and enjoying the warmth of the fire and the tea when their hands touched. She looked into his eyes and fell deep into them. Nikolas had leaned forward, as if he were to kiss her, but she turned away at the last second. "You're married." she said helplessly. He pulled back and nodded in understanding. "You're right. Forgive me." he said sincerely. It became awkward facing him after that, and Clémence had worried that that encounter might interfere with her job, but thankfully, it didnt. The day after, Nikolas greeted her as if nothing had happened, and she was grateful. Her cover was safe, and so was her job.
The clock on the wall indicated that the class was over. Clémence stood up and gathered her robes and looked at her students who were noisily laughing at the failed charms that they performed. "That will be all for today," she said in her clear voice. The class quieted down, and all eyes were on her. Clémence wished that it were otherwise. She did not like being the center of attention, it was dangerous in her line of work. But it had to be done. "I'll see you next week." she said, dismissing the class.
The classroom soon cleared out, but there was one girl who had lagged behind. Gabrielle Crown. Clémence glanced at the striking girl who was no more than eighteen. Gabrielle was in her final year at Hogwarts, in the house of Slytherin. Clémence could only wonder what the girl wanted. She arched an eyebrow at Gabrielle. "Yes, miss Crown? Is there anything you might need?" she asked in her flawless English accent. True, she was French, but her father was English, and she had spent most of her childhood days with him.
Gabrielle smirked at Clémence, "The Headmaster has asked me to give you this." Gabrielle said, handing over a vial filled with a glassy silver strand that Clémence immediately recognised as a memory.
She reached out and took the vial, "Thank you, Gabrielle." she said calmly, as opposed to the emotions that were raging inside her. Gabrielle nodded and shrugged then walked out of the room, leaving Clémence alone.
Clémence pocketed the vial and walked out of the door as well. Her back was to the hallway as she locked the door, when she heard a voice behind her.

He had always dreamed of grandeur, ever since he found out that he was a descendant of Salazar Slytherin. As a child in Durmstrang, he did all he could to ensure that he was the top of his class. He had left school and gotten a job straightaway at the Bulgarian Ministry of Magic, though he did not stay there for long. He yearned to travel, and his family provided him enough resources to live comfortably for the rest of his life. He returned to his native England when he found out enough. He took up a post at Hogwarts, knowing that from there, he could continue the legacy of Salazar Slytherin. He at first taught the art of Transfiguration, and soon, the parents of the elite saw his potential and made him Headmaster, which suited him just fine. It was, after all, what he had always been vying for.
The arrival of Clémence de Dreux in his life had been unexpected. She alone had made him go mad in his head, lusting after her, while knowing that a relationship with her could be quite detrimental to his intent. He cursed her and yet loved her at the same time. His young wife was too cold toward him to ever realise the torture inside his head. He knew that he needed to talk to Clémence once more. If only to set things straight. And indeed, he had no idea of what she truly was. He only knew her as she had wanted the world to know her.
From the blind corner of the corridor, Nikolas watched as the students filed out of the room. After a few moments, he saw Gabrielle leave the room, heading toward his direction. He stepped out of the shadows and smiled at the young girl--who did not look very young. "Well?" he asked.
Gabrielle smiled slyly, "I told you that you could trust me." she said in a low voice, "So what do I get in return?" she asked laughingly, her German-accented voice quite suggestive.
Nikolas shook his head with a smile, "You know I can't give you what you want, Gabrielle. You're a student." he said. He was used to the coy nature of Gabrielle. She had a reputation for being what she was, and Nikolas was not exempt from the girl's behaviour.
"But I'm already of age, Nikolas." Gabrielle protested poutingly, taking Nikolas' hand into hers, but the playful sparkle in her eyes never left her. She knew that she would never get anywhere near the Headmaster, though it was quite fun to try.
Nikolas shook his head again, and slipped his hand out of Gabrielle's. "You're late for your next class, and I prefer to be addressed with respect next time, Gabrielle." he said.
Gabrielle smirked at him, "You really need to stop being uptight, Headmaster.[/b]" she laughed as she left him and walked away, out of view.
Nikolas smiled and watched as Gabrielle left. When she was out of his sight, he turned back toward the door of the Charms classroom, and saw that Clémence was already locking the door. He walked briskly toward her with a small smile on his face. "Good afternoon, Clémence." His voice was smooth, and his eyes were intense as he reached out to help her lock the door. He stood up straight when he was done and continued fluidly, "I hope you're do not have any engagements tonight. There are some things that I would like for us to talk about, and, well, would it be too much to ask you if you wanted to have dinner with me at my villa? Nadine will not be home tonight, and there are many things which I wish to discuss with you." He paused, wondering if he had said too much, but then waited for the answer of Clémence.
He looked at her and wondered why on earth he had married Nadine. In front of him was the most perfect woman, a woman who was disciplined and who would surely make a fine wife. He saw in her the ability to rise to power along with him, and even help him. But she was far too protective of herself, he had noticed. Not once had he heard of Clémence de Dreux having a lover. His eyes sought hers, and he smiled at her. "This would just a dinner between colleagues, of course." he assured her when she did not answer him right away.

Clémence's breath caught in her throat when she saw Nikolas standing behind her. She stepped aside as he helped her with the door. She uttered a soft thank you, keeping her eyes on the ground.
Her mind was working overtime as she processed everything that he was saying. Dinner at his villa. Alone. She knew that she could do some spying there, and that she might uncover important information. Yet the danger of being with Nikolas alone was bothering her. His reassurance that it would only be because they were colleagues did not relieve her the slightest bit. She took a deep breath before looking at Nikolas.
The look he gave her sent a wave of electricity down her spine, and she could feel herself weaken under his gaze. She couldn't allow herself to feel the way she was feeling, not if she wanted to fulfill her duties. Not if she wanted her mother to stay alive.
But a split-second of analytical thinking made her realise that if she allowed herself to form some sort of intimate relationship with Nikolas, she could get more information out of him. But the risks it involved--her mind was torn. What if she lost control in the middle of the game? She couldn't let that happen. But she would perhaps never get another oppurtunity to get inside his villa unless she accepted his offer.
After what seemed like an hour, she opened her mouth to speak. "Just as colleagues, Nikolas?" she asked softly. The words were out of her lips before she realised what she had said. She cursed herself silently. She tilted her head to the side and bit her lip, "Forgive me, I shouldn't have said that." she said quietly.
The ball was in her hands now. She had to start her act. She looked down, then looked back at Nikolas, brushing a lock of hair off her face and gazing up at him.
She allowed herself a few moments of believing that she was not a spy, and that Nikolas was not her mission. She allowed herself to believe that the man before her was sincere about his emotions, and that she was just Clémence de Dreux, Charms Professor. She took in everything, the way he smiled at her. His awkwardness. His eyes. Everything.
"It is forbidden." Voices raged inside her head. But she had convinced herself that it was just a part of her job. She wanted to believe that. She wanted to believe that she was doing everything just for the sake of the job and not because of her feelings toward Nikolas.
She could not imagine such a man ever having such desires of conquering the world, and of genocide. Not Nikolas. But she also knew that the French Intelligence was quite formidable, and that they wouldn't send her to thwart Nikolas' efforts unless their source was concrete. But looking at Nikolas' eyes, she began to doubt the credibility of the Intelligence.

Walking down the hallway in search of Nikolas after one of her classes Anna sighed slightly. Only the night before the divination professor had been accused of having an affair with the headmaster, by his wife of all people. It wasn't so much that it bothered her that Nadine could think that, rather that she sometimes wished it would. But then was it because she had fallen for the man, afterall they were confidents. Or was merely because Anna knew that if Nikolas rose to power she would too. He had told her far to much about his plans to go back now.
AS the women walked she considered her own apperance. She was small, standing at only just 5"5 but it suited her small figure, and it was considered beautiful at the time. Although her hair was of a reasonable length it was unfashoinably coloured, being of the palest blonde. Anna's skin was pale almost to the point it was white. But her eyes, they held her true beauty, they were of the most unusual colour. Violet. And the could be captivating when she was not cold, but they could also be that aswell. Icy.
Finally she heard Nikolas' voice sound through the corridor. As Nadine had pointed out the night before he seemed to spend every other waking moment with Anna. I rarely find you from the side of my husband. His letters are all addressed to you. He spends his afternoons in meetings with you. That was what Nadine had said and that wasn't entirly true. He did spend some time with his staff, actually it sounded like he was with some one now.
As she turned the corner Anna saw that her deductions had infact been correct. The headmaster was with Clemence de Dreux. The divination professors only other friend. Dropping the cold look on her face Anna smiled slightly at the two. "Afternoon." She spoke with an eloquence that was shown even in that one simple word. Turning her eyes to Nikolas she spoke again, "We must speak. Your wife has been throwing accusations around again."
Here she turned to Clemence, they may be friends but that didn't mean that Anna didn't know about Nikolas' feelings for the women. Even if han't told her it was fairly obvious. Then of course Anna had always wondered about the french womens allegience. She just didn't seem the type to agree with Nikolas' ideas. She smiled warmly at the women, knowing very few words need be spoken between them.

Nikolas smiled at the response of Clemence. "If that is all you wish for it to be," he replied. He lowered his voice as she apologised. "No, no," he said. "There is no need for apologies. It it I who must apologise to you for torturing your mind with this. I know we have agreed not to let it get to this, but you know I can't help what I feel, Clemence." he said quietly.
The way she looked at him made him feel like the luckiest man alive. She seemed so happy and honest. He knew that all good things had an end, but looking at Clemence, he knew that something good was about to begin. And once he rose to power, he would make sure that it did not end. He took her hand into his discreetly and stroked it, while looking deep into her eyes.
A device in his pocket beeped, warning him of someone approaching, and he dropped Clemence's hand and took a step back from her. "That was quite a dynamic class you gave there, Madame de Dreux." he said, covering up.
He heard footsteps steadily approach them, and was relieved that he had put in the sensors around the school, as it was Anna who had come. It would have been detrimental if she saw him talking to Clemence the way he had. He needed Anna to believe that he had unspoken feelings for her. She was his confidante, she knew things about his plans that no one else knew. One day, he would confide in Clemence, but not before he was sure that he could trust her completely. After all, emotions were blinding, and he though he felt deep love for Clemence, he knew that he could not trust his heart when it came to such things.
He walked toward Anna, a small smile playing on his lips. "Nadine's young, Anna. She tends to rant a lot. Yesterday morning, she kept on asking me if I was having an affair." he laughed. He let his hand accidentally brush against Anna's own.
He looked down at the floor, stealing a glance at Clemence, then looked back at Anna. "Young girls tend to get jealous a fair lot. Don't mind her, Anna. Leave me to deal with my wife." he said with a small smile.
He turned back to Clemence. "Always a pleasure watching you teach, Clemence." he said gallantly, taking her hand and placing it to his lips. "I'll have your evaluation ready by tomorrow evening if you would be so kind to pick it up at my office." he said. He let go of her hand and bowed his head slightly, as Clemence was a lady, and he a gentleman.
He waited for her to leave him and Anna alone before looking back at Anna. He was careful to keep his eyes from Clemence, as he did not want Anna to notice anything. "We must speak. There is a new hindrance in my plans." he said quietly. "But this is not the place or time to discuss such matters. Would you be available tomorrow afternoon?" he asked, looking straight into Anna's beautiful violet eyes.

Clemence was left silent as Nikolas closed his hand over hers. She was surprised at how perfectly it fit. The warmth that she felt when he looked at her rivalled nothing that she knew existed. Voices were in her head, and she struggled to block them out.
She was surprised when she heard a quiet beeping, and was sorry to have Nikolas let go of her hand. But when she saw Anna after a few minutes of silence. She did not regret Nikolas' decision. She smiled as he covered up fluidly. As she expected, he had talent in covering things up.
She smiled at Anna, and nodded politely. Though friends, they were not the type to behave the way society expected them to behave. Well, at least that's how Anna was. Clemence simply had adapted the ways inside the school.
She took in the exchange between Nikolas and Anna. They seemed so comfortable with each other. She made sure to remember to try and see if Anna knew anything that was worth investigating.
She was surprised when Nikolas referred to his wife the way he did. He seemed so detached from her, treating her almost as if she were a stubborn pet--so different from the way he talked to her, and looked at her.
She stood steadily as Nikolas once again took her hand and brushed his lips against it.Clearly, he was still the same gentleman she knew him to be. She nodded politely, "It was a pleasure having you in my class, Professor Vogel." she said. Her voice was controlled, having the tone of one who was used to living in high society and attending lavish parties. "I shall send someone over to gather my form. I'm afraid I'm having dinner with someone tomorrow night." she said with a smile.
She turned to Anna. "And I shall leave you two to do your business." she bowed her head with a smile. "Goodbye." she smiled. She turned and walked away from the two, looking back at them before she turned the corner.
When she was out of view, she leaned against the wall and took a deep breath, contemplating what had just happened. So Nikolas did feel something for her. It was hers to use as her own advantage. She placed a hand inside the pocket of her robe and felt the vial there. She had almost forgotten about that. Whatever memory it held, she was sure that it was important. She took another breath as she straightened herself up to continue walking.
She went up to her chambers and bolted the door behind her. When she was sure that she was safe, she took out her penseive and poured out the memory...

Smiling gently in responce to Nikolas' comment Anna let her eyes take in the mans apperance. He was handsom yes, quite a bit older then her but then in their day and age how old you were married mattered little. Anna let her violet eyes follow clemence down the corridor, although her attention stayed mostly on the headmaster.
"And when have i ever been not free tomorow afternoon, Nikolas?" Anna asked, her usual sly smirk slipping over her features. But the divination professor wasn't so sure about young girls getting jelous. For one, Nadine was hardly a girl, but secondly Anna was only a few years older then Nikolas' wife.
Anna had been very aware of Nikolas' hand touching her own a few seconds before. There was no tingling at the touch, it didn't make her feel faint. Though, in all truth Anna had never believed in true love. All those tails of knights and princesses the hero sweeping the damsel in distress off her feet. How unlikley.
That however didn't mean that Anna didn't have feelings for the man before her. Indeed freindship was surly the strongest type of love. Indeed, Nadine had been correct in much that she said, Anna did spend her afternoons in mettings with the headmaster, her letters were all from him and She did spend an awful lot of time with him. And not in a professor // headmaster capacity.
"Since when has there been a hindrance as you so rightly put it?" Up until now the plan of the headmaster had run smoothly. Granted they had helped it along in their own little ways, but this must be something big to be called such.
Anna waited for a reponce.

Nikolas laughed as Anna kidded about her availability, "True." he smiled. He shook his head when he asked about the hindrance. "I told you before, and I wil tell you once more, Anna. Even the walls have ears. Nothing is safe here." he said quietly.
He walked toward the courtyard, bidding Anna to follow him. He made sure that no one was following them, and made way toward the grounds. It was a long, silent walk that they took, but as they seemed to be doing it quite often, Nikolas had assumed that Anna was used to it.
He led the way toward the open field. The land was vast around them. Not a tree nor a rock was in sight. Overhead, the afternoon sky was clear, and Nikolas could see the castle from where they were standing. Finally, they could speak in private.
He glanced around them one final time before speaking. "What I have to say, is of utmost secrecy. Not a soul knows of this except for Lucius." he said hesitantly. Lucius Gray was his oldest friend, more like his younger brother. He imparted everything to Lucius--he did not trust Anna as much as Lucius, but he trusted the woman a fair lot. He conjured up two chairs and a small table before continuing.
"I think we'd better take a seat." he said. He pulled out the chair for Anna. "Lucius has just informed me of the imminent arrival of my daughter." he said finally. He expected Anna to be surprised, but could not discern her reaction as he did not look at her as he continued his tale, instead he looked toward the lake as he couldn't meet her gaze.
"I was twenty-five when I first loved a woman. Victoria, her name was. She had left me to get married to some rich muggle aristocrat--and left me she had. I was broken, and I chose to travel to free myself from the pain. I went to Egypt then. Nine months later, I received word that Victoria had given birth to a child, and that her husband had her arrested when he found out that the child was not his. Yes. It was my child. I travelled to back to Salzburg immediately, to find that the muggles had already hanged my beloved for adultery, and had left our child to die in the streets. With the help of Lucius, I found my child. It was then when I swore my vengance upon the muggles for robbing my child of a mother." he paused, taking a breath before he continued.
"I took her out of the cold, biting winter air to my estate in Vienna. I named her Emelia. But I was young, and in no way ready to give up my dreams, not even for my daughter. So I left her in the care of a governess, and continued my travel. I provided her every financial need while I was gone, and she grew up in luxury. I would spend the holidays with her and take her travelling with me during her summers. Even Nadine knows nothing of this. All she knows is that I have business to do over the holidays. She never really cared where I went off to." he finally glanced at Anna, but looked away again.
"Now, Emelia is sixteen. A young woman of the highest caliber and impeccable breeding. And as I have long expected, she has grown tired of Austria. She has expressed her wish to live in London, and go to Hogwarts for her final two years. I pleaded her to stay in Vienna, but she said wanted to spend time with me. How could I refuse that? In Vienna, I made sure she was protected from all muggle influence. But when she arrives here, I cannot give her the same protection. Hogwarts is reeking with the stink of the muggle born. Lucius will be arriving with her in two weeks." he shook his head in utter distaste.
"As for the hindrance, I do not wish for my daughter to witness any of the violence that we have long been planning. She is far too precious for that. We must change our plans. And I am at a loss as to where to begin." he said, looking finally at Anna. He had talked enough and was now waiting for his companion to speak.

The divination professor didn't say a word as she walked by the headmaster in silence. She was so used to it now that she didn't even realise that neither of them were talking, it didn't mean that neither of them had nothing to say though. As Nikolas had so correctly pointed out even the walls had ears these days. Where they had come from she didn't know.
When the headmaster finally spoke Anna watched with intrest. She had never seen him in quite this state before. It was obvious that there was something wrong."And you know that i would never tell." She responses to his implyes question. She didn't need to wonder who Lucius was, she heard enough about him, but she would quite like to meet him when he did finally come to the school.
Taking the seat that was hers Anna felt ressured slightly that Nikolas was as good a gentleman as ever. It ressured her that it couldn't be that bad, he wasn't angry. She had felt his anger before, and was sure she would never do anything to make him angry again.
Anna's violet eyes widen slightly when he confessed about his daughter. This was the only visible sign of how disturb she was by that fact. INstead of making a scene she simply pushed the thought to the back of her mind, leaving it to anyalse later. Tiliting her head slightly to the side she continued to listen to Nikolas' tale, liking the feel of the breeze on her face.
As Nikolas was looking away from her, clearly unable to meet her gaze Anna looked up to the sky, watching the empty expance of blue. She took in his tale, understanding what was coming. He clearly loved his daughter dearly, what worried her more then anything was what Nadine would say about the new person in the castle. And that was the first thing that she asked when Nikolas finally finished. "And does Nadine know of any of this?"
Without waiting for a reply she continued in her usual smooth soft voice. "Rather then using violence we use our minds. We just have to change opinions. I've told you before, there is no need for blood shed." The smirk that usualy stayed on Anna's lips was long gone. There was just something that made her more open when she was with Nikolas. And sometimes she wondereed if that was a good thing.

The moment the words left Anna's lips, Nikolas was no longer able to control his temper. He had always been able to, but somehow, this tipped the bottle that was holding his frustration. His eyes darkened, and he spoke in a voice that clearly reflected his rage. "Have you not heard what I have been saying, Anna?" he asked angrily. "Have you not heard what they did to Victoria? To the woman I once loved?" he snapped.
He took ahold of himself and quieted down, taking a breath before speaking. "Forgive me," he said in a lower voice this time, but his anger was still in his voice. He was not angry at Anna, but toward the whole situation. "I did not mean to raise my voice at you, Anna." he said, looking into her eyes, but he could not help but keep the glare off them. "But understand that they took my beloved's life and left my child, my child, Anna, to die in the biting cold of the Austrian winter night."
"How am I not to resort to violence when it is them who instigated the whole ordeal? I merely wish to repay their kindness toward the people who mean dear to me, Anna." he said, his quiet voice echoing with bitterness.
"And then there's the fact that my actions would make my forefather proud of me. Salazar Slytherin would finally have his life's mission accomplished." He looked at Anna, his dark eyes slightly losing its glare.
"Do you understand what I am trying to do here, Anna?" he asked quietly, taking her hands into his own. "This is the only way that the wizarding world would be safe once more. This is the only way to make sure that our children would have a future to look forward to. The only way, Anna."he said, his voice smoother, returning to its fervent fluidity.
The sun was starting to set down the horizon, and shades of orange and purple soon bathed them with warmth and at the same time, the breeze around them was starting to turn chilly.
"I understand that ridding the school of muggles at the moment is close to impossible. But that would still be a priority, however as of the moment, I think it is only logical that we find ways to cleanse the world of its spoils, starting with the muggles. The muggle-born garbage can wait--for now at least." he paused, "I need you, Anna. I need you by my side, now more than ever."

Annna was not totaly suprised by the sudden anger that Nikolas showed. As she had thought he had cared dearly about this Victoria and his only daughter. Not that Anna was jealous, she was too clever to be so, she knew that Nikolas knew that there was nothing that could bring Victoria back. He wasn't stupid either.
None the less Anna's eyes harden over, the violet tint becoming more pronounced with coldness. Her pale face rather then holding it's usual smirk now held a slight sneer on her sharp features. The divination teacher was quick to anger, although she normally saw fit to hide it. Yet again with Nikolas all her emotions became mixed up and she also became angry. That was obvious.
"I am merely once again trying to find ways around the situations way out of my hands." Anna spoke, her voice unlike her face was not showing her anger. It was as soft and as eloquent as ever, and in ways even soothing. " It is not my fault that you don't want your daughter to see all the violence we have begun to cause. All the chaos." The divination professor paused, having let some of her anger go. "What do you expect me to do?"
As Nikolas took her hands in his Anna ouldn't help but not be angry with him anymore. She hated herself for it, she shouldn't feel that way. IT shouldn't be his choice to enter her life, but it looked like she had little choice. Even if she had never wanted love, she still didn't. Although she wasn't that sure about it anymore.
"You and i both want the same thing Nikolas. A world rid of muggle fools." Anna's delicate mouth formed back into it's usual smirk. "We've gone to far now to turn back, we can make the world safe. Not for power, or victory or glory. But for those we care for." The words flowed like liquid from the womens mouth. "Isn't that what we want? To make things better?"
Anna reaslised quickly that she had almost repeated Nikolas' words. But her anger was long gone so it now made little difference. "Neither of us can do this on our own. And only the worse for us if we both try for the same things apart."
Letting her violet eyes scan Nikolas' face hse searched for the answer to all the questions she had asked. She waited for any repsonce, more then anything thinking he would walk away. In a way hoping he would, then she wouldn't have to go through any of this. For once her heart was clearer then what her head said. For once she thought that what they might be doing was wrong.

Nikolas tightened his hold on Anna's hands, drawing them near him. "Yes, Anna." he said quietly. "We want the same thing. And I promise you that I will not let us accomplish our goal separately, if I can help it." he said, staring into her eyes intensely.
He sighed as he let go of her hands, and looked toward the castle. The lights were already lit inside the school, and the sky around them was darkening quickly. He stood up and held out his hand to help Anna from her seat "We must return to the castle." he said.
"We shall continue this discussion through owl post, I'm afraid I'm going to have to leave Hogwarts for a while, at least until Emelia arrives. I have put off muggle killings for far too long. I must make my message clear before Emelia comes. It is time for justice to be served for Victoria." he said.
"I rely on you, Anna, to gather as much information and supporters that you can in the school. We need to know who are the muggles. Since the Minister of Magic banned all census of bloodlines to protect the muggles, it is close to impossible to determine who is with us and who is not." he said, frustration clear in his voice.
He walked down the path with Anna beside him and stared at the lake. "Funny, I know you so well, but at the same time, know nothing of your past. What has happened to you that made us so alike, Anna?" he asked quietly. "What is the reason why you are by my side right now?"
He trusted Anna quite a lot, he had known her long enough to give her that kind of trust. But he knew very little of her. His life to her was an open book, but about her, he knew very little about. Lucius had warned him about that. Lucius believed that one could not trust anyone fully without knowing what they had been through in life. And Nikolas trusted Lucius with his life. So what his friend said, he took into careful consideration, after all, it was Lucius who did all his dirty work.
Lucius had insisted on doing a background check on Clemence, and though Nikolas had protested violently, Lucius did not listen to Nikolas, for Lucius knew the intensity of Nikolas' feelings toward Clemence. And because of this, Nikolas could no longer protest. His friend only had his best interests in mind, after all. But he drew the line when Lucius had tried to investigate Anna's past. He did not want to violate her trust. He knew that Anna would tell him what he needed to know--and what she wanted him to know. He respected the years of friendship they had that much.
In a way, though cold and willing to commit genocide, Nikolas was a very idealistic man. The right thing was all that he wanted. He was a gentleman, and he believed that it was tasked upon him to help make the world a better place by ridding it of the muggles who only existed to hurt the ones he loved.
He looked at Anna and took her hand again, "Is there anything that you would like me to know about yourself. About your past?" he asked quietly.

Taking Nikolas' hand Anna stood up, leaving go if his hand gently she walked next to him in the dim light of afternoon. Her mind was adding everything together. All the questions that had no answers, and then the headmaster had to delve into her past. A place Anna was very unwilling to go for anyone. Even for herself.
Letting her violet eyes scan out over the lake Anna stayed silent for a time. Not wanting to revel in past, although nothing truley horrific had ever happened to her the past still hurt. Just like the future hurt even thought he future was still to come. In a way Anna simply wanted to forget her past, but she couldn't forget that it was that which made her who she was that day.
Finally she spoke, her voice smooth and soft. "Me. Where do i start?" She refused to meet Nikolas' eyes with her own. She so wanted to trust him, to be able to trust anyone fully. But it was difficult. Anna of all people knew how people could use you, and abuse you once they had the information they wanted. She wasn't sure that once Nikolas' had what he wanted he would toss her aside. She didn't think that she could bear that.
"Me." She repeated. "I grew up in Russia, with my family. I went to the Russian school of magic. I became a divination professor, much to the disgust of my parents who thought it was highly unsuitable for a woman of my pureblood linage to have a job. I avoided an arranged marraige." All that Anna said was true, but it wasn't much that classified her as anyone. Nothing but the fact that she had rebelled.
Glancing at Nikolas Anna continued her voice becoming softer and softer. "My parents died in an accident. Not that i ever carred for them that much but i know how they died. It's unfortunate being able to see the future." Anna's eyes became much colder then usual. "Muggles. Need i say more." Turning away the divination teachre wiped away a single tear from the corner of her eye.
She would not say anything more. She would see how trustworthy Nikolas was. Deep inside she knew, she knew that he wouldn't tell anyone but the truth was to hard to face. The truth hurt to much. And the truth was in Anna's head rather then in her heart.

He thought her story to be deeper than what she had just said, but did not say anything more. Different people drew different emotions at times. Nikolas gave Anna a small, encouraging smile.
"The future, Anna." he said quietly. "I do so wish that it would turn out right. For Emelia's sake, and for all our sakes." he said. The clocktower tolled its bell and broke the silence of the night.
Nikolas sighed inwardly and glanced toward the castle. "I'm afraid I cannot linger, Anna." he said. "I have to attend another ball thrown by the wife of the Minister of Magic. Perhaps tonight I can convince him that it would be wiser to cleanse the wizarding world lawfully. Though I doubt that would happen, really. However, it never did hurt to try." he winked at her.
He took her hand and brushed it against his lips. "Good night, Anna." he said in his deep voice. "I shall see you soon, I hope."he smiled. He bowed slightly and turned from her and walked away toward the school gates where he disapparated after stepping out.
Pardon the shortness. I can't think straight as of the moment.

Anna's violet eyes watched as Nikolas walked off into the night. She stood for a few moments after he had disaparated before turning and walking back to the school. She met no-one, not even a student out after cerfew. The whole encounter with Nikolas had been no more then an few hours, but it had bought up so much in Anna's past that she seemed colder then ever as she walked through the silent school.
Finally Anna reached the bottom of the stairs to the divination tower. Home. The one place she felt entirelly safe from everyone. And when she reached the top of the stairs she came to another room, above her was her classroom, whilst to her right was her office. Taking the door to the left she stepped into her room. Opening the windows she sat down on the sofa that stood in the center of the whole room.
Change was in the air. It blew on the wind. Anna could almost taste her. What scared her though was the fact that she didn't know what was coming, and wether it had anything to do with her.
