Full Name: Gertrude Wilhemina Prewett
Gender: female
Age: 17
Occupation: Hogwarts Student
Loyalties: although it's rather hard to believe, Gertrude has yet to choose a side because she feels she doesn't hold enough knowledge of both sides as to have an opinion. She is gathering information, and when the time is right she'll choose what she believes is right.
Avatar: (celebrity used) Emmy Rossum
General Appearance:
Gertrude is a classical beauty. She has long black hair that goes down to her midback in loose curls. It's usually down in loose curls, or kept in place in a bun or with an elaborate hairdo. In summer her hair tends to look brownish because it bleaches easily with the sun.
Her eyes are what first draw attention in her face. They are dark green in colour, and with a very childish air to them, mostly because of how wide they are. It is said that eyes are a mirror to the soul, and there is no exception with her. She can hardly hide anything with such expressive eyes, even if she can pull the exact face her eyes often betray her. If she’s happy her eyes seem to sparkle, if she’s they’ll look darker, if she’s sad her eyes are only half open and often looking downwards. Gertrude's eyes are framed by thick lashes and very thin and defined eyebrows. When she thinks something is fishy, her eyebrows twist into a frown or she just arches them.
She has a rounded face that enhances her childish looks. Her smile is the second thing that draws the most attention in her face, as it’s really wide and impish. Her lips seem to be normally curved in a small smile, which makes her look very approachable. This of course depends on the company she’s with, as it is very hards for her to hide her dislike for anyone. Her cheeks are almost permanently tinged with pink and it almost goes beyond her control.
She has a very petite bone structure and isn't taller that 5 ft 3 inches. She’s not exactly thrilled about her height, but it’s something she has accepted over the years. She is thin, which makes her look like a frail porcelain doll. Her skin is pale state, but in summer, acquires a tannish tint.
Brief Character History:
Gertrude was the youngest children and the only girl born to Cyrus and Antoinette Prewett. The first years of her life were peaceful and normal. She would usually play with her brothers around the Estate, or with many of the other pureblood children. As she got older, she received proper education for a lady of her status, monitored by her mother, a french pureblood witch that had fled along with her family when the French Revolution took place. Gertrude learned to read, paint, play the harp and speak french. Her manners were almost perfect. The only fault in Gerty's personality was her thirst for knoledge. She was well versed in many subjects and had an opinion of her own, something uncommon among pureblood women. Soon enough she received her hogwarts letter, and it was there that she continued her magical education and was one of the first witches of her class. Now that her years at Hogwarts are coming to an end, her parents are already begun to search for a suitable husband for her.
Personality:
Gertrude is what you might define as a proper lady. She speaks french fluently, is a rather virtous player of the harp and loves to read. There is also a rebellious strike to this young woman. She holds vast knowledge on many things and has an opinion on them. She usually gets into discussions with some of her male classmates, as she usually lets her opinions be heard. She doesn't like the inactive role most women have and thus she doesn't have too many girl friends, She isn't one for gossips and doesn't really care what other people think of her. She is very cool and collected for the most part, and would never lower herself as to loose her temper. Nevertheless, she can be very hurtful when infuriated and is not advisable to get in the way of Gertrude Prewett. She can be somewhat arrogant, and admitting a mistake is not something common in her. She likes to treat everybody like an equal and can often be found standing up for those that are picked on.
Sample Roleplay:
Hestia walked into the Magical Law Enforcement Office with a tired expression. Her curly hair was slightly amiss, and had she been in a joking mood she'd probably find herself a striking resemblance to a lion. She walked briskly towards the desk of Crouch Sr's secretary and handed the woman a single sheet of paper. Before the secretary had time to ask her anything or to give her an errand, Hes had turned around and was already on her way to her cubicle. Her left arm was held close to her, and if one looked closely some scratch marks and even small markings of teeth were noticeable along with a few droplets of blood that stained her sleeve.
She plopped tiredly in her chair, twirling around to face the window, hoping the good ol' folks of Magical Maintenance had a nice view prepared for her window. Boy was she wrong. At first it was pretty nice for a normal day, a small clearing of trees with an ocean in the background. But somewhere along the way the weather mutated, the skies turning a dull grey with wind to go along. Hes shivered and closed the curtains, twirling again (that was her hobbie, actually) facing her desk, resting her head in her arms, reliving her day so far.
It all started like a normal day at work, normal meaning boring. By the time her presence had been resquested by the Head of Department, a float of about twenty paperboats or so, were spread across her desk and charmed to sail around it. Aside of being given a ton of forms to fill and deliver to the Control of Magical Creatures Office before noon, her slave driver boss had informed that the Congress of Magical Security in Greece had been posponed for at least a week. At this point in time, Hes cursed under her breath, mumbled a response to her boss and headed towards her cubicle to fill the forms. The only thing she had been looking forward at work was the Congress. Being one of the few ministry workers that spoke greek fluently she was often sent as a translator for anything regarding the Balcanic Peninsle.
But Hes was one to look for the brighter side of everything, so she filled the countless forms while thinking that probably next week the sun would shine everyday and she would have time to take a long sunbath. She finally finished the paperwork after two hours or so and headed to the Control of Magical Creatures Office. There she was met by a very unusual sight, even for Ministry standards. As soon as she stepped into the office she was sighted as food for a flock of Doxys that had escaped from Merlin knew where. By then, Hes had yelped and thrown away the pile of forms in order to grab her wand and have freedom of action. She managed to stun most of the Doxys right away with the help of another worker, but one managed to bite her hand and scratch firecely until it was stupefied. By that time, a Jarvey had also ran loose and was currently yelling rather nasty insults at Hes. She was fuming and was about to start yelling like a banshee when the Jarvey was silenced by someone.
After the ruckus, Hes picked the paper with a flick of her wand and fixed those that had been shredded to pieces by the Doxys with a swish and a simple charm. Luckliy for her there had been a Healer in the Floor and she kindly tended to her hand, that had a nasty look to it. She received a single sheet of paper to deliver to her boss and headed back to the Second Floor.
And then, while she was on her cubicle near a nervous breakdown, the absurdity of the whole ordeal hit her like the flock of Doxys had done earlier. And her body started shaking, her face hidden in her arms. Had anyone looked at her they would've though she was crying. But a clear laugh was heard throughout the Floor. At first it was a choked cackle, but then she just laughed freely, even doubling over with laughter.
When the laugh finally died down a little, she looked in front of her meeting a pair of quizzical eyes.
